ACTIONS
The project intends to include a wide range of organisations, including universities, education and training providers, think-tanks, research organisations, and private businesses who have taken the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus+ project. Empathy for Children will culminate in the publication of a Toolkit for Teachers and Students and guidelines for the implementation of methodologies to educators and stakeholders. To successfully bring this this project to fruition,, the Empathy for Children team are required to implement a number of key actions.
Below are the key actions that we have identifies together with Erasmus+ descriptors for each.
Key Action 1
Key Action 1: Learning mobility of individuals
Key Action 1 aims to encourage the mobility of students, staff, youth workers, and young people. Organisations can arrange to send or receive students and staff to or from participating countries, as well as organise teaching, training, learning activities.
A1 - Common background definition
Translating and adapting EMPATHY CURRICULUM in principles creating a common framework for contents and action The activity output will be the definition of a common action plan.
Key Action 2
Key Action 2: Innovation and good practices
Key Action 2 is designed to develop the education, training, and youth sectors through five main activities:
Strategic partnerships to support innovation in the sector as well as joint initiatives to promote cooperation, peer-learning, and the sharing of experience.
A2 - Defining methodology and regional action plan
Tuning the common action plan into a regional operative action plan adapted to regional peculiarities [partner experts + teachers + students + stakeholders]
The activity output will be the creation of a transnational network Regional operative action plan in order to make a proposal to the educational institutions to modify the existing curriculum.
Key Action 3
Key Action 3: Support for policy reform
Key Action 3 aims to increase the participation of young people in democratic life, especially in discussions with policy makers, as well as developing knowledge in the fields of education, training, and youth.
A3 - Regional implementation Piloting in primary school
Two cohorts (8 month each) during a 19 months pilot phase.
1° COHORT SEPT 2020 APR 2021
2° COHORT SEPT 2021 APR 2022
After the first eight-months piloting there will be a three months Evaluation period in order to collect qualitative & quantitative data to design possible changes in the methodology.
Expectations
Maximum Expectations
10 schools in each country in order to build a research community.
Each school will involve 4 school classes with an average of 25 pupils (= 40x4x25 = 4000).
This means that at national level the national trainings will train at least 40 teachers will be supported to build a research community in the classroom.
Minimum Expectation
In total a minimum of 16 classes (2x region x 2 cohort = 3/400 pupils according to the size of classes) pupils will be involved. Parents and teacher of each class will be involved too.
Key Action 4
A4 - Transnational training the approach will be based on a first 5 days training of the trainers. The training will be held by Iben Sandahl,. The training will deal with a minimum of 4 individuals from each partner regions that will become trainer for other teachers and parents in their home country.

Development of a multi-lingual (English, Italian, Slovenian and Austrian) project web platform that will have three main functions/sections:
(a) general project and partner information function/section including a download area for project outputs; current project news; project events calendar, project photo gallery, ptoject toolkit and manual etc;
(b) a private section dedicated to the storage of the internal documents (a specific ‘intra-net’ function intended as a common area for project partners)
The toolkit and training will be implemented by Mrs Iben Sandahl. Iben Sandahl is an internationally-renowned public speaker, best-selling author, psychotherapist and educator. She has more than 20 years of experienced insight into child psychology and education, which in a most natural way anchor the Danish way of practicing parenthood.
Toolkit for Teachers and Students
This specific output will produce multi-lingual (English, Italian, Slovenian and Austrian) specific toolkit and guidelines dissemination and awareness activities / tools for the direct promotion and dissemination of project results / outputs as well as the ERASMUS + Programme objectives and actions.
